日本でもかなり有名なアメリカのハードロックバンド。
Bostonを拠点に活動しているが、メンバーの誰もボストン出身じゃないという不思議。
一時期、Joe PerryとBrad Whitfordがバンドを脱退するも84年に復帰。
この間に作られた"Rock in a Hard Place"はPerryとWhitfordがいない唯一のアルバムで、評価も低い。
2人の復帰を促したのはこの間にWhitfordの代わりに加入したRick Dufayで、AerosmithがRock and Roll Hall of Fame(ロックの殿堂)入りしたときに、Perryは彼への感謝の言葉を述べている。>>Wikipedia(en) "Rick Dufay"
